Tickets for Boring 2012 – an event ‘dedicated to the prosaic and the mundane’ – are now officially sold out. Organisers are stunned at the public response to the annual conference, which takes place on Sunday November 25th at York Hall in East London. The celebration of all things utterly dull and unenlightening will feature lectures on a range of topics, including self-service checkouts, toast, heights of celebrities, ASMR videos, IBM tills, yellow lines, walking home, shop fronts, civil aircraft and wait for it… fridges. The latest addition to the incredibly boring event is a world record attempt, trying to achieve the highest number of rotations in a single self-propelled spin on a standard office chair. The current official world record  is 15.75 rotations, which was set by Kate Bird on July 14th, 2012 in Suffolk, England.
