Death Angel kick off the evening with a throwback thrash style that should whet the appetites for any fan in attendance at the Islington Academy. They go through a great back catalogue of choices that includes ‘Kill as One’ which is also dedicated to Debbie Abono [Famous band manager].
But the fans are here to see the mighty Nevermore hit the stage to support their new offering, ’The Obsidian Conspiracy’. Kicking off ‘Beyond Within’ Nevermore show that their older cuts are of the high technical standard that hasn’t left the quartet’s minds and writing style to this day. As everyone knew tonight, the video for new single ‘Emptiness Unobstructed’ would be filmed tonight, a little hiccup from singer Warrel Dane meant the song had to be played a second time which the crowd of course, much oblige to show that they were more than willing to pulverize each other in pits that reached the middle of the crowd.
Golden oldies like the ‘Seven Tongues of God’ whip the crowd into a frenzy very few would foray into. The gig isn’t without its fallings and negative points but in all, the diehard fans of Nevermore are treated with a show that will have a lasting memory in their minds.
